The iconic pop group Steps are beginning their official musical HERE & NOW tour in Manchester next year.
The tour will travel around the UK and Ireland from 2025 through to May 2026.
The band recently made a trip to Manchester to announce that this northern city will be the first stop on their UK tour.
The performance will take place at Manchester’s Opera House from 2 to 13 September 2025 before heading on the rest of their tour.
All five members of the reunited band – Faye Tozer, Lee Latchford-Evans, Claire Richards, Ian “H” Watkins and Lisa Scott-Lee – collectively made the announcement whilst previews of their show are currently being played in Birmingham.
The musical will include some of Steps’ most renowned songs all focused around a story set in a seaside superstore called Better Best Bargains.
It explores lies and betrayal and is set to take the audience on a love story – but begs the question: will there be a ‘happy ever after?’ or does love have other plans in store?
Steps are the UK’s most successful mixed-sex pop group of all time, with 14 top five singles, four number one albums, 22 million record sales and 500 million streams.
The band’s hits include: 5,6,7,8, Tragedy, Heartbeat and Stomp.
The musical is produced by the band themselves alongside ROYO with Pete Waterman and Fascination Management, with an original book by Shaun Kitchener.
It is directed by Rachel Kavanaugh and choreographed by Olivier Award winning Matt Cole.
Casting for the UK and Ireland tour is still to be announced with tickets for the Manchester shows to go on sale from today, 20 November, www.atgtickets.com/Manchester
