A Manchester-based Oasis tribute band have been forced to turn down gigs after a surge in demand following the Gallagher brothers’ reunion announcement at the end of last month.
Oasis Supernova said they’ve noticed a massive increase in bookings since the famous 90s Britpop band announced their 2025 comeback tour this August after 15 years apart.
The tour sold out in just 10 hours – leaving thousands of fans disappointed at not securing tickets and many more fuming at Ticketmaster’s “dynamic pricing” system which saw prices jump from £150 to more than £350.
Jon Clark, co-founder and drummer of Oasis Supernova, said: “It’s been great for all Oasis tribute bands. People obviously struggled to get tickets so [the reunion tour] just kind of increased the hype.
“Gig requests have been coming in to the point where we have had to turn a few down.”
Though fairly new on the tribute scene – forming in 2019 – Oasis Supernova also found themselves the subject of attention from a variety of media sources in the last month – including ITV News who interviewed lead singer Chris Hibbert.
Oasis Supernova are a five-piece band of Manchester-born professional musicians, aiming to stand out in a saturated market by performing alongside video footage of the actual band and taking the audience on a detailed journey through Oasis’ career so far.
The tribute band replicate everything exactly as it was performed by the Gallagher brothers themselves – from the kind of keyboard and amps used, to their very movements.
They also boast a full brass section, with brass arrangements written by Jon himself.
Jon was “made up” after Oasis announced their reunion.
He said: “When I started out in bands many years ago in my heyday, it was Oasis that got me into playing my own music and doing my own stuff.”
Now, the Oasis reunion is helping his band gain recognition.
Oasis Supernova are due to play at The Forum theatre in Romiley this Friday.
Final tickets for tonight’s gig at The Forum can be found at here or from the venue itself.
