Manchester bands will dominate this year’s Kendal Calling headline slots, with Elbow and James both confirmed acts for the summer festival held in the Lake District.
They will be joined at the top end of the bill by hip hop phenonomon Snoop Dogg and British indie acts the Kaiser Chiefs and the Vaccines.
Now in it’s tenth year, Kendal Calling has been expanded to a four-day event across 12 stages and will take place across the weekend of July 30 – August 2.
Mancunian solo artist Bipolar Sunshine will also play the 12,000 capacity festival, along with the likes of rockers Kodaline, The Horrors and Embrace.
Brit-Award winning songstress Ella Eyre, political bard Billy Bragg and edgy folk star Lucy Rose also join the bill.
Public Service Broadcasting will headline the Calling Out stage, while British Sea Power make a return having played the very first Kendal Calling festival 10 year ago and will headline the Woodlands stage.
Elbow played a sold-out three night residence at Manchester Apollo last week, while James last made an appearance in the city last October for a prizewinners’ show at the Hard Rock Cafe.
Snopp Dogg made a notorious appearance at Manchester Gorilla last August, munching on cookies made by Manchester’s Women’s Institute.
Last year, Kendal Calling played host to numerous Mancunian acts including the Happy Mondays, Jimi Goodwin and Findlay.
Following a sell-out of presale tickets, further tickets are due to be released for a price of £130 and £140.
