Hangover cure: Northern Quarter Market returns to Manchester this Sunday

The buzz and furore of the marketplace will return to Manchester’s Northern Quarter this weekend, with a selection of stalls to satisfy foodies, music lovers… and those hoping to cure their weekend hangovers.

This year’s third Northern Quarter Market will take place on Sunday between 11am and 4pm in Stevenson Square on Hilton Street.

Market goers are invited to enjoy food from the stalls accompanied by music provided by Leonard Skully Records.

Live music will also start at 12:15pm with rock and roll from Politburo followed by performances from Cascades, Tom Hollingworth, and fresh from playing The Cavern the night before, The Jungfraus.

Treats from Ginger’s Comfort Emporium will be available, including their award winning ice cream, as well as freshly made home cooked Burmese food from Nila’s Burmese Kitchen.

Shoppers can peruse the 35 stalls which will make up the market, including 12 dedicated to modern design, ethical gifts, and home wares.

Amanda McCrann’s hand-crafted mosaics will be available for purchase, along with retro and shabby chic furniture from Decourcey Designs and surreal, geeky artwork from Turner Illustration.

Foodies won’t be disappointed with artisan produce on offer from Winter Tarn Farm’s selection of organic cheese, eggs and butter.

Manchester Veg boxes will also make an appearance alongside sausages and bacon from Bobby’s Bangers, bread and wine from Bakerie, and real ales from Tatton Brewery.
