Grime artist Bugzy Malone will headline two shows at Mayfield as part of Manchester International Festival’s pre-Factory shows.
Bonobo will open the event on November 3, bringing his Outlier series to the UK and performing alongside DJ Gilles Peterson.
Electronic music duo Bicep will close the show a week later while Bugzy Malone – born Aaron Davis – will perform two shows on Nov 8 and 9.
The Factory is a new world class cultural space being developed in the heart of the city at the site of the former Granada studios.
It will host a range of dance, opera and music performances and will be run by Manchester International Festival, which returns for its seventh year in July 2019.
MIF is teaming up with the legendary Warehouse Project for Special Edition, a series of specially curated shows produced in collaboration with Radio 6’s Mary Anne Hobbs.
Taking place across five nights in November, the performances will be hosted at Mayfield, a former railway station with a rich Victorian legacy which is now home to GRUB food fair and a co-working space.
Malone has been credited with instigating a grime revival in recent years and giving Manchester a voice in a London-dominated scene.
