Multi-award winning pianist Ingrid Fliter will return to Manchester for a rare appearance at the Bridgewater Hall later this week.
The Argentinian last performed a sell-out concert in the city in 2012, and will play alongside the Manchester Camerata on May 16.
Ingrid has established a reputation as one of the pre-eminent interpreters of Chopin and her 2014 EMI recording Chopin: Complete Waltzes received five-star reviews and was named the Daily Telegraph’s ‘CD of the Week’.
The concert is set to showcase some of the greatest pieces of chamber orchestra repertoire, including Beethoven’s dramatic Piano Concerto No.2 and will open with Mozart’s world-famous Marriage of Figaro Overture.
The show will also feature Manchester composer and 2011 BBC Young Composer of the Year, Jack Sheen, perform the premiere of his miniature masterpiece Etudes.
The pre-concert performance will see young people from OneManchester (City, South and Eastlands Homes), perform a live remixed interpretation of Mozart’s Symphony No.41 ‘Jupiter’.
Audiences will also witness 20 young people from across Greater Manchester perform a live remix on stage with the orchestra and the Camerata’s Youth Forum, inspired by Figaro.
