As the festive season approaches each year, JD Parties throws incredible events up and down the country.
This year, the company will be hosting a Masked Ball at Tatton Park on selected nights between Friday, November 24 and Sunday, December 31.
The event is so highly anticipated that some nights are already completely booked up, with the premier evening as well as every night between December 2 and December 22 already sold out.
Fortunately, there are other nights that are still accepting guests. For an idea of what to expect, here’s some footage from last year’s New York New York Christmas Party.
Those who manage to get a ticket can expect a “night of mystery and intrigue” according to the official events page, as attendees are encouraged to get into character and explore the magical, majestic world of masquerade.
Each evening, the gracious party hosts will lead you on a journey around the world, allowing guests to attend re-enactments of some of the most famous masquerade balls in the world.
Even the décor will be authentic, though there’s tell of contemporary twists, while entertainment will include funfair rides and even a charity casino with roulette and poker.
It seems the event organisers are particularly excited about the latter as the aim of the event is to raise money for charity, and we can only hope they will include a variety of poker games from Texas Hold’Em to Omaha to attract as many poker players as possible.
Each evening will begin at 6.45pm when the doors of Tatton Park open and visitors will be handed a complimentary glass of bubbly while they watch pre-dinner entertainment.
At 8.00pm, the grand reveal will take place and dinner will be served while more entertainment, a themed show, and competitions begin.
Dinner comprises three courses, with options including Scottish poached salmon, roasted bell peppers with champ potatoes and Viennese rich chocolate sponge cake with apricot confit and salted caramel sauce.
Following dinner, guests will not only have access to funfair rides such as dodgems but, even better, a charity fun casino.
For just £5, ball attendees looking for thrills can purchase $10,000 worth of fun money chips that can be gambled on games including roulette, blackjack, craps, and poker.
The best part is that all proceeds will be given to JD Parties’ nominated charity the Ronald McDonald House Manchester, though the High Roller of each night will receive a prize.
Each table game will be run by professional croupiers that will explain how the game works. We imagine this will be quite simple when it comes to most of the games, but you may want to practise a little beforehand if you’re considering playing poker.
After all, poker is a historic casino game that is often played at charity events around the world with a number of different rules and variations depending on each game, so it is best to know your way around a deck before going all in.
For instance, you will need to know the differences between Seven-Card Stud, Omaha, and Follow The Queen poker game variations, as well as what terms like Ante, Flop and Under the Gun mean to truly become a High Roller.
The rest of the evening will be filled with disco and dancing until 1.00am when the doors to this magical masquerade party will close once more.
If you are thinking of attending one of these glorious evenings, we recommend booking as soon as possible, as well as reading the information supplied on the official website. The dress code is of particular importance as all guests are asked to dress to impress.
Of course, it seems the only other stipulation is to enjoy the ride and have fun – take a ride on the dodgems, play poker and bask in all the entertainment.
