Hot up and coming singer Sinead Harnett believes collaborating with major artists really ‘opened her eyes’ to the industry after a scintillating performance at Chadderton Baths this week.
The stunning jazz inspired vocalist treated punters to a rip roaring set that showcased her rich tone and powerful set of lungs in all their glory.
After laying it down on some major artists’ albums over last year, Sinead feels more ready than ever to step into the spotlight and take on the world.
“Working with Disclosure was a real eye opener and it was a good way of seeing into the possibility and being part of their movement was a really big help,” she told MM.
“It was a great experience because I was there at the early parts of their journey so it was like; look what could happen.”
Although you may not instantly recognise her name, there is more than a good chance you will have heard Sinead’s silky smooth voice.
Baby and Hide are two of Rudimental’s album tracks that really shine thanks to the talents of Sinead, and Disclosure’s Boiling is a garage smash that’s had people up on their feet for months.
“They are all exactly the same as how they were when I first met them. Which I think is really good. It’s great to see nice people do well,” added Sinead.
“Plus, their music is sick!”
Sinead also delivered a stonker of a track for Ryan Hemsworth’s EP and now the rising star has joined forces with Snakehips for her latest track No Other Way.
On stage supporting Kwabs at the Lumia Sessions, Sinead commands the stage, the North London girl grew up inspired by the sounds of Whitney, Tina and old school garage, and this is clear to see from the material she’s put out.
With sensual vocals and feline features, Sinead commands attention, her riffs are perfectly placed, beautifully executed and not overdone.
The gig at the beautiful former abandoned baths felt like the cusp of some big things ahead.
“I’m quite a perfectionist like quite a lot of artists are. I expect a lot and I want to achieve a lot,” she added.
“Right now, I feel really positive, and excited for the future.”
