Wayne Rooney has a reputation for being vocal on the football pitch.
But it turns out the Manchester United captain also doesn’t mind straining his vocal cords in his spare time too – with a casual sing-along.
The England forward performed an impromptu tune with pop sensation Ed Sheeran in the Sir Ralph Abercrombie pub following his gig at Manchester’s Phones 4u arena last week.
The 29-year-old is no stranger to belting a tune in public, having also previously performed with Welsh rockers Stereophonics.
After seeing Sheeran in concert, Rooney tweeted: “Brilliant time at @edsheeran concert last night. Thanks for a great night mate.”
But it appears the night did not end there as the pair went on to perform their bar duet.
Rooney’s strike-partner Robin van Persie was also at the Ed Sheeran gig, tweeting a picture of the show.
“Just experienced a great performance by @edhseeran. He’s so talented, what a voice!!” he said.
