Psychologist Jennifer Rees will host her touring ‘The Psychology Of Serial Killers’ talk here in Manchester next year – delving in deep to what shapes a person into killing.
In March 2023, Manchester Opera House will host a true crime junkie’s dream night out.
In her seminar, Jennifer Rees will debunk the most common serial killer myths, from ‘all serial killers are men’ to ‘all murderers are born evil’.
In the talk the difference between female and male serial killers will be explored, which surprisingly is bigger than you think.
Although not all serial killers fit into one clear cut box, the theory that there are four types of killers is examined by Rees with case studies to support her findings.
Arguably one of the most famous killer couples, Ian Brady and Myra Hindley play quite a significant role in the talk when investigating shared psychosis which Hindley reportedly suffered from.
An interesting study is explored by Rees on whether a simple MRI scan can identify the characteristics that are common within a serial killer, with an anecdote that will leave your jaw dropped.
This poses the question whether people who murder are born evil.
The talk starts at 7:30pm and lasts for 2 hours and 20 minutes.
Tickets range from £23 to £42 and can be bought here.
