Greater Manchester’s best places to celebrate Bonfire Night

Manchester City Council announced earlier this month they will not be holding their annual free firework shows again this year.

This is the third year that displays led by the council have been cancelled after Covid-19 restrictions prohibited events from going ahead.

Although, the council have said that ‘escalating costs’ have prevented this year’s shows from going ahead amid the cost of living crisis.

However, Covid restrictions are now over and many bonfire festivities will still be going ahead over this weekend.

Bowden Bonfire

Bowden Bonfire – taking place at Bowdon Cricket Hockey and Squash club in Altrincham – will be celebrating its 54th annual display on Friday.

Bowden will be illuminating the skies with three firework displays.

Bowden’s first firework display will be suited more towards young children prior to two more intense displays.

The bonfire will set adults back £12 to attend with an additional £5 for any children.

Bramhall Firework Festival

Bramhall will also be holding a firework display on Friday in Stockport Rugby Union Football Club.

Offering a plethora of festivities such as a fire dancing show, live music acts, a fun fair and of course a spectacular firework display there is fun for all the family.

Costing just £10 for adults and £6 for children, tickets are available to buy on the gate.

Cockfields Farm Park

In Ashton-under-Lyne, Bonfire Night fun will be taking place all weekend from Friday to Sunday.

New to Cockfields Farm Park for this year, the show will include firework displays and fire eaters.

Cockfields Farm offers family fun for all ages throughout the weekend from a ‘low bang’ firework display to iconic Disney soundtracks to amazing fire eaters.

There is an opportunity to see the farm’s animals but there will be no opportunity to handle the animals.

Tickets are £15 for all ages and will allow access to all shows and the farm.

Buile Hill Park

Salford skies will be lit up with three dazzling firework displays and a fire display this Saturday.

This event is the biggest firework displays in Greater Manchester with an attendance of 10,000 every year.

New for this year are two fire pits for marshmallows to be toasted for £2.

There will be a variety of food and drink vendors on site available.

Gates will open at 4pm.

All of this is on offer for free.
