Manchester will host the world premiere of highly anticipated film DxM on Sunday October 4 as part of the annual horror, cult, fantasy and sci-fi extravaganza, Grimmfest, that kicks off today.
The film starring Walking Dead star Tom Payne and Sam Neil will be the highlight of the festival next weekend with the cast and crew presenting the film.
Grimmfest will feature a staggering 34 films over four days at the Odeon Printworks in Manchester.

Greg Walker the festival and events manager said: “Working with Warner Bros is a massive step for the festival.
“We didn’t expect to secure DxM as we thought one of the big London film festivals would get it.
“Fortunately the filmmaker was born in Manchester and really wanted the film’s premiere to be here.”
“We have never had an exclusive that has been as big as DxM before and this makes us very proud.”

Last year’s event had 1,500 to 2,000 attendees but Greg expects the attendance to increase to nearly 3,000 with the new partnership with Odeon and it has recorded record ticket sales at this point.
The Festival which will run from October 1-4 is in its seventh year and it now ranks in the top 40 internationally.

DxM focuses on a group of young bio-engineers who discover that quantum theory can be used to transfer motor-skills from one brain to another.
They freely spread this technology, believing it to be a first step towards a new intellectual equality.
But as the mysterious past of one of their group is revealed, dark forces emerge that threaten to subvert their discovery into a means of mass-control.

Other highlights of the festival include 20 confirmed guest appearances including Game of Thrones star Joseph Malawe attending the opening film The Hallow tonight.
A screening of the classic SCREAM in tribute to the recently deceased Horror maestro Wes Craven will happen on Friday with part of the ticket sales going to charity.
Punk icon Henry Rollins stars in the UK premiere of biblical Vampire flick He Never Died.
