MAMMA MIA! is coming back to Manchester

The world renowned musical MAMMA MIA! is due to return to Manchester’s Palace Theatre in March as part of its upcoming UK tour.

This West End show by Judy Cramer, now in its 26th year, has performed more than 10,000 times in London alone. The international tour made its way around 42 countries, and holds the record for the ninth longest-running show in Broadway history, with 14 consecutive years.

So far, the musical has been staged in 16 languages, and turned into two formidable movies starring the likes of Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Christine Baranski, Julie Walters, Colin Firth and others.

Based on music by ABBA, the show is about a young lady who, alongside her mother, seeks to find out which one of three men possible men is her biological father.

The Manchester Evening News called it “a seriously fun, feel-good masterpiece” on its last run here.

ABBA’s very own Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus are credited for the live show’s music, and it is directed by Phyllida Lloyd.

Tickets go on sale here today and the production will be shown at the Palace Theatre between 3 – 26 March 2025.
