International Women’s Day was formed to recognise the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women and highlight issues such as gender equality, reproductive rights, and violence and abuse against women.

IWD special by Yoga Social Club (see more here)
A yoga session with calming breathwork, slow flows and an uplifting meditation. Followed by a wine social and networking time. Plus live music from the Manchester String Quartet.
The organisers said: “We have created the ultimate wellness experience to celebrate what it is to be a woman in today’s society.”
The experience also includes a wellness goodybag!

A community walk around the city centre to share your passion for equality and creating opportunities for Manchester women.
Manchester City Council, who organised the event, said: “Bring along fun, safe and noisy instruments and make the most of your voice to join in with chants!”
