The UK’s largest gaming social event is returning to Manchester next week with an impressive line-up of games studios and partners.
FORMAT, formerly known as Manchester Gamers Unite, hosts industry-leading community nightlife events for gamers and non-gamers alike.
After postponing last year’s event for health and safety reasons, FORMAT will return to Impossible Manchester for its 2022 launch party on Thursday April 21, from 6pm until late.
Simran Whitham, Managing Director at Format.GG, said: “We’re ecstatic to be getting back to doing what we do best, uniting the best of the game development and gaming community for an evening of gaming, music, good food, and fantastic vibes!
“For our 2022 launch party, we’re collaborating with the largest number of game showcases, brands, content creators, and community leaders we’ve ever taken on, and we can’t wait to show everyone what we have in store.”
Attendees will have the chance to meet BULKHEAD, the studio behind ProMod – a 5v5 tactical first-person shooter that is currently under development – and play Humble Games’ newest release, Archvale.
North East-based publishers Merge Games will also be open for publisher-pitching from game developers looking to partner up.
FORMAT is partnering with Manchester-based charity Everyone Can UK, which helps disabled people to access video games through assistive technology assessments, training and workshops for games developers, and their specialised gaming centre in Sale.
The event is open to guests 12 and up, but under 16s must be accompanied by an adult, and all attendees must provide either proof of vaccination or a negative lateral flow test result taken within 48 hours to the start of the event.
