GMP are embroiled in an investigation after gun shots were fired in Stockport last night.
At around 11.40pm, police received a report that two loud bangs had been heard on Tytherington Drive in Reddish.
Officers attended the scene and found no damage or reports of anyone injured, however, a number of spent bullet casings were found on the street.
The area was secured and CSI attended to recover the casings, but searches around the area are ongoing.
Detective Sergeant Jay Beeken from Stockport said: “I can understand if neighbours and other residents are concerned about this incident.
“We are in the early stages of our investigation and are working to establish the motive behind the shots being fired.
“Officers attended the scene immediately after the incident and extra patrols have been providing a reassuring presence to the community.
“If anyone has any information about the incident I would urge them to come forward and speak to us.”
