‘God bless his skinny legs!’ Fundraising footy fan ticks off Manchester in 800-mile epic

A 13-year-old football fan is biking his way through Manchester as part of a mammoth 800-mile charity challenge in memory of his nan.

Jonjo Heuerman, from Kent, is attempting to cycle between all 20 Premier League clubs over a two-week period and the youngster is currently on his way to Old Trafford.

Today the teenager will knock off three more clubs including Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City, totting up 52 miles.

His proud mum Donna has been keeping his 7,400 Twitter followers up-to-date with her son’s movements using pictures and videos.

The youngster was joined by a police escort from Merseyside officers this morning with GMP taking over this afternoon.

Donna wrote: “The police have not left his side since Hull FC including police escorts and cops giving up their days off to cycle with him.

“Approximately 52 miles today. God bless his skinny wee legs!”

Jonjo will enjoy a brief respite before setting off from Eastlands tomorrow, Saturday February 21, to embark on a 39-mile journey to the Britannia Stadium, home of Stoke City.

This is the fifth year that the teenager has undergone a challenge in aid of the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK and he has raised a staggering £191,000 so far.

The youngster has also racked up support from the likes of Rio and Anton Ferdinand, Steven Gerrard, Cilla Black and West Ham vice-chairwoman Baroness Karren Brady.
