Bury manager David Flitcroft has vowed to continue improving his squad after the Shakers overcame Hemel Hempstead Town to progress into FA Cup second round.
His side had to come from a goal down against a resilient Conference South outfit, but goals from Andrew Tutte, Nathan Cameron and Daniel Nardiello sealed victory.
Flitcroft revealed that he is continually on the lookout for new players after confirming a loan deal for Bolton defender Hayden White until January.
“We certainly won’t be bringing numbers in just to fill the squad up, we’ll be bringing numbers in to improve the squad,” he said.
“There are players in the squad that I want to put pressure on and add competition for places.
“We’ve brought in Hayden and he wants to be a part of this project – he’ll get us driving forward and give us size and presence at the back so it’s a good addition.”
White, 19, has made three appearances for Wanderers this season but has spent the majority of this term at Carlisle, where he has impressed Flitcroft.
The former Sheffield Wednesday trainee was sent off in his last game for Carlisle and will not be available to play for Bury until the home game against Dagenham and Redbridge.
The Shakers have a number of injuries at the moment with Craig Jones likely to miss a month with a hamstring tear while striker Ryan Lowe is 10 days away from action following a hernia operation.
There is positive news surrounding Daniel Nardiello however, the former Manchester United forward does not require surgery with the club are aiming to manage his on-going injury concerns
After the match on Saturday former Barnsley boss Flitcroft also said he was hopeful of securing more loan signings in the coming days but was reluctant to reveal any names.
The Shakers now face another cup game as Tranmere Rovers are the visitors to the JD Stadium in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy on Tuesday night.
