Mancunian royalty Liam Gallagher and Ricky Hatton are both rumoured to be heading Down Under to battle it out to become the jungle king of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here.
Both the former Oasis singer and former boxing world champion have both seen a flurry of bets in recent days leading to their odds being slashed on them entering the jungle.
Gallagher is as short as 8/11 with some bookmakers to go on the reality TV hit.
Gallagher, 42, recently announced the split of his band Beady Eye leaving him available to enter the jungle while Hatton, 36, currently works as CEO of Hatton Boxing Promotion.
Bookmakers Ladbrokes now have Gallagher at odds of 10/1 not just to enter the jungle but to win the title of ‘King of the Jungle’ with Hatton trailing just behind him at 12/1.
The favourite to win this year’s competition though is Olympic bronze medallist diver Tom Daley who is 3/1 with Ladbrokes. The diver posted a cryptic tweet yesterday of an old picture of him in the Singaporean jungle leading to fresh rumours he could be set for a spell in the Australian jungle.
Ladbrokes spokesperson Jessica Bridge said: “Liam would be TV gold with his put downs and honest views, but for now punters are still set on Tom being the King of the Jungle this year.”
This isn’t the first time Gallagher has been linked with reality TV, in the past he said he would consider being a judge on X-Factor, so he could save rock and roll.
Hatton was quoted earlier this year saying that reality TV ‘wasn’t for him’ in his Manchester Evening News column so this would mark an incredible turnaround for the former WBA, IBF and IBO Light Welterweight Champion.
Already confirmed to be taking part this year are Towie’s Gemma Collins and TV presenter Melanie Sykes.
I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here returns for its 14th series on Sunday 16 November.
