A Bolton illustrator has been inking portraits of Arndale shoppers in a bid to raise money on the final day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
One in eight women will battle breast cancer in their lifetime, while 1,000 UK women will lose their lives to the disease this month alone.
Dominic Evans, 28, teamed up with the Arndale Centre’s Warehouse store on Friday afternoon and secured more than £100 in aid of Breast Cancer Research.
“Warehouse have sponsored breast cancer awareness for at least five or six years now,” said the part-time shop assistant.
“With it being Halloween and half term we have pulled out all the stops. The only thing we are missing is me pole dancing on the tills.
“We are trying something a little different with the portraits and just trying to raise as much money as we possibly can.”
The freelance illustrator donned a vampire cape as staff at the store entered into the Halloween spirit to help raise funds for the charity.
While speaking to MM, Dominic was busy creating his latest masterpiece and said he was excited to be involved in supporting such a great cause.
“At times today it has been hectic – at one point I had four people all wanting to have their portrait done,” added the author of the book Map My Heart.
“Customers have loved the pictures and for some of them, watching me create the pieces can be really hypnotising.”
Every other season, Warehouse also contributes 10% of the proceeds from one item of clothing to Breast Cancer Awareness.
This Christmas the clothing store has released a pink woollen jumper which they hope will help raise money for the charity.
