Former Manchester United footballer Ravel Morrison will face a January trial after he pleaded not guilty to four charges in court.
The West Ham midfielder, 21, was handed a provisional trial date of January 26 after he was arrested on July 27 in connection with assaulting his ex-girlfriend Reah Mansoor, 19, and her mother Parveen Mansoor, 39, at a house in Peel Green, Salford.
A further charge of harassing Reah over a period of more than four years between 1 January 2010 and July 20 this year, including allegedly threatening to ‘throw acid in her face’ and ‘have her killed for £10,000’, was also denied by the Premier League star.
Morrison, of Wythenshawe, has been released on conditional bail and will next appear at Manchester Crown Court on November 10.
Judge David Stockdale QC bailed Morrison and ordered him to not ‘contact directly or indirectly’ either of the two victims.
He was also handed the condition of not entering the Greater Manchester area apart from making court appearances and when West Ham are playing in the region and must return to an address in East London immediately afterwards.
Morrison played 98 minutes of West Ham’s defeat to Sheffield United with the Yorkshire side winning 5-4 on penalties, following a 1-1 draw on Tuesday night.
The talented midfielder moved to West Ham from Manchester United in 2012 after making three first-team appearances over two years.
The playmaker has been capped by England at every international level up to under-21 level and spent the second half of last season on loan at fellow London outfit Queens Park Rangers.
