The dramatic end to a Wythenshawe car thief’s 120mph police chase has ‘left him deflated’ after bringing him to a halt – and capturing it on Twitter.
Police officers deployed a stinger on the stolen Toyota Avensis in Chorlton, causing it to crash through the central reservation after it was taken from Lymm in the early hours of this morning.
The entire event was tweeted by the North West Motorway Police after a swift arrest was made.
North West Motorway Police’s Communications Supervisor Emma Clarke said:
Car keys were stolen by the thief after breaking into a home in the quiet parish.
And the suspect fled at speeds ‘in excess of 120mph’ as the police pursued him before they finally managed to stop them by popping his tyres and sending them hurtling into the barrier in the middle of the road.
