Samir Nasri celebrated striking a new five-year deal at Manchester City with a golf-themed prank on a club journalist.
The French midfielder penned a contract to sign for the Premier League champions until 2019.
And Nasri looked comfortable at pre-season training as he played a joke on club journalist Dave Clayton.
The former Marseille midfielder shouted ‘look out for that ball’ at the end of an interview with Clayton, causing the journalist to duck for cover and launch into an expletive-filled rant.
Clayton had earlier ‘jumped at a butterfly’ and Nasri fully capitalised to give him a fright.
“I’m very happy to have signed this contract and to commit my future with City because it’s exactly what I wanted when I first signed here,” the 27-year-old told City TV.
“And I’m really happy we have found an agreement so I can continue to win titles.”
After receiving criticism for his performances in previous seasons, the Frenchman came to the fore under Chilean boss Manuel Pellegrini, firing in 12 goals as the Etihad outfit stole the title back from neighbours Manchester United.
Nasri joined the Blues from Arsenal for £23million back in 2011, winning the Premier League title in his first season under then-manager Roberto Mancini.
However, Nasri was denied at the World Cup by France boss Didier Deschamps after his role in the South Africa mutiny in 2010 when Les Blues players revolted against Raymond Domenech’s management.
His ‘foul-mouthed tirade’ at journalists following France’s Euro 2012 exit to Spain also cost him a spot in Brazil, where Germany ended the country’s interest with a 1-0 quarter-final win thanks to Mats Hummels’ early header.
