The parents of a motorcyclist and father-of-two who died in a collision in Manchester earlier this month have paid tribute to their ‘Superman’ son.
Steven Jade Vincent Johnson, 32, was riding along St Mary’s Road, New Moston, Manchester, shortly before 7pm on June 19 when his silver Kawasaki collided with a parked vehicle.
Steven, or Jade to his family, hit the vehicle with such force he was flung into a nearby garden. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The family have finally broken their silence and spoken of their loss, saying Jade would always be there in a flash, just like the famous superhero.
Dad Steve and Mum Bernadette said: “Jade, the most wonderful son you could have wished for and we had him. Someone you could call and he would be there in a flash. Just like one of his heroes ‘Flash Gordon’, super for things he did like another hero ‘Superman’.
“Jade had his heroes and he was ours. He was the most loving and devoted father to his kids Holly and Penny who he would have done anything for and did all of the time he was with them.
“When he was not with them he kept thinking and asking about them. That was our Jade, our beautiful boy, our son. Gone too soon but will never ever be forgotten.
“To his friends he was the life and soul of the party and a true friend to them, and them to him. A friend for life.”

Jade’s sister, Sarah, said his death will leave a huge void for everyone who knew him.
“A brother who was always there when needed who could light up a room as he was never without a smile. He was a one-off character that has left a huge gap in our hearts,” she said.
“Loved so much more than he ever knew. I was proud and honoured to call him my brother. My own personal ghostbuster! ‘Who do you call?’”
Sister, Tracy said: “Jade [was] a loving brother and uncle. Everybody’s ‘Superman’, life and soul of the party. Always lifted the spirits of people on dark days.”
“Fun loving character who would do what he could to raise money for charity when it involved bike rides.
“Always in our hearts.”
