Manchester United’s Class of ‘92 can boast one of football’s dream five-a-side teams – but a team of builders formed a strong defensive wall in a kickabout on the Hotel Football construction site.
The Manchester match-up shows Nicky Butt, brothers Phil and Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes donning their hi-vis jackets to go steel toe-to-toe with the workmen on top of the high-rise hotel.
The hotel – owned by ex-Red Devils Giggs and Neville – is currently being built on Sir Matt Busby Way in sight of Old Trafford.
With space for 138 beds, the 10-storey building will have capacity for 1,500 fans.
Giggs, the last of the five to remain playing, announced his retirement earlier this week after a short spell as interim manager before the appointment of Dutchman Louis van Gaal.
