A Bolton man who repeatedly raped a seven-year-old girl and made her urinate on him to re-enact scenes from a hardcore fetish movie has been jailed for 24 years.
David Thompson, 61, of Deane, Bolton, sexually abused two girls from the age of seven over a period of about three years.
A Greater Manchester Police offcicer has said is one of the worst cases of child sexual abuse he had ever seen.
Thompson admitted 30 child sex offences, including six counts of raping a child under 13.
He started abusing one girl in abround 2005 and the other a few years later.
One of the girls was repeatedly raped by Thompson.
He would also force her to watch a hardcore pornographic film called Beyond Perversion, then commit sex acts on her and make her urinate on him, depicting scenes from the film.
At Bolton Crown Court today, Thompson was sentenced to 24 years in prison.
Thompson pleaded guilty to six counts of raping a child under 13, three counts of sexually assaulting a child under 13 with penetration and 12 counts of sexually assaulting a child under 13.
He also pleaded guilty to six counts of causing/inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and three counts of causing a child to watch a sexual act.
Thompson only admitted guilt after forcing both young girls to give evidence at the trial.
After instructing his lawyers, he also forced one of the girls to endure an invasive medical examination after she had given evidence. The examination ultimately supported her claims.
Detective Constable Lee Gridley of Greater Manchester Police called it ‘without a doubt one of the worst cases of child sexual abuse I have investigated’.
“Thompson is a depraved individual with extreme pornographic fetishes who subjected two innocent and vulnerable young girls to appalling abuse,” he said.
“In the case of one of the girls he went so far as to make her re-enact scenes from a fetish movie and I cannot begin to contemplate the lasting physical and psychological impact this will most likely have on them both.”
Det Const Gridley praised the victims, who cannot be named for legal reasons, for having the courage to report the abuse.
“They have shown great strength and courage in not only finding a voice to report the abuse, but, at such a young age, in being prepared to give evidence to ensure this dangerous individual has been brought to justice,” he said.
“This case shows that, sadly, unimaginable things do happen to the most vulnerable members of our community behind closed doors but that Greater Manchester Police can and will support victims of sexual abuse, regardless of when or where such abuse occurred, and do everything we can to identify and bring to justice dangerous individuals like Thompson.
“If you or someone you know is experiencing sexual abuse please do not suffer in silence. If you can confide in a friend, family member or the police you can be rest assured dedicated and specially trained officers are on hand to help and support you.”
