Former Manchester Giant’s player Nick George admits he is impressed with the current squad, singling out Rob Marsden as key to their play-offs push.
The former Great Britain international hails from Manchester and played for the Giants last season but signed for Plymouth Raiders at the start of this season.
George played for Plymouth against the Giants on Sunday in a 99-80 defeat for his Raiders team.
He said: “It felt good to play here again, the Giants played fantastic tonight!
“I’ve been really impressed with (Rob) Marsden, I think he is going to be as big player, I enjoyed being here and they deserved to win it.
“I think the Giants came out with more energy and we failed to execute in certain moment, full credit to them.”
George started the game for the Raiders and scored 15 points, which turned out to be in vain.
The experienced forward received a largely warm welcome and after the game signed autographs and posed for pictures with family and friends.
It was evident that he still had some feeling for the Giants.
He continued: “At times [I miss this place] I’m really enjoying Plymouth it’s like a big family.
‘It would have been nice to win the game but we’ve got to finish strong.
When asked if he would support the Giants, should they achieve a play-off place he replied:
“Of course, of course.”
