Manchester Giants guard Callum Jones believes the team can beat anyone in the league – or the play-offs.
The Giants have been in great form and made it six wins from nine when they defeated play-off rivals Plymouth Raiders 99-80 at the Wright Robinson.
Following the comprehensive win, Manchester-born Jones was keen to praise the team effort.
“We started anxiously as we were so up for the game, we all contributed well and it was a good team win,” he said.
“We’ve shown recently that there is no one to fear in this league.
“The thing about the play-offs is the form teams do well and we’ve been doing well recently, we just need to carry it into the play-offs.’
Jones scored nine points in the game, with eight rebounds and eight assists in what was one of three crucial games in the hunt for the play-offs.
The Manchester Giants moved up to eighth place in the standingsm, level with Plymouth and now ahead of Glasgow Rocks and Durham Wildcats with two fixtures remaining.
Jones is targeting a strong finish to guarantee they achieve the spot they missed out on, following defeat on the final day of last season.
“We are trying to win as many games as possible, we are going for two wins in our final two games.
“The budget we have is minimal and a lot of us are from England so it would be an achievement to get the play-offs, this has definitely been an improvement on last year.”
The Giants travel to play the Sheffield Sharks on Friday before an Easter Sunday showdown with London Lions.
