A rush hour taxi fire has caused traffic chaos in this morning’s rush hour.
Two lanes of the M602 were closed as fire crews were called to put out the Regent Road blaze at around 08:25.
The fire has now been extinguished and the road has since re-opened, but delays remain a possibility.
It is believed that no one was injured in the blaze.
An eyewitness described the ‘scary’ scene on Twitter:

Northwest Motorway Police’s Twitter updates show the road closures were cleared within an hour.
M602 E/B just prior to Regent Rd taxi on fire. Well ablaze. Fire on scene. The M602 E/B is currently closed. 1 Ln closed on the W/B.
