When it comes to putting on a show most performers are a bit too busy remembering lines to be scouring the audience for a potential date.
However, with his own brand of ‘Lad Banter’, Cockney comedian Dapper Laughs takes performing in his stride and is always on pull – even when he’s on stage!
The social media phenomenon will be embarking on his first tour since creating the much-loved character Dapper Laughs and is set to take Manchester’s Sound Control by storm on February 9.
Tickets to see the London comic are already well in-demand as the pre-sale tickets sold out in less than eight minutes.
“It was f**king mental to me. We have nearly 700,000 likes on Facebook, 150,000 followers on twitter and more than 200,000 followers on Vine,” he added.
“It feels so much more real when we sold out of priority tickets in 8 minutes and then we gave them even more tickets and they sold out!”
Audiences can expect a lively performance from the X-rated comic as he told MM that he loves to perform in front of a live audience, which gives him the opportunity to chat up women.
Dapper said: “When I am performing I like people to get involved, so there will be lots of audience interaction and I might try and pull a few of the lady’s.”
The ‘Lad Banter’ comedy that Dapper has become renowned for started on the video sharing website Vine and, in the last two months, has propelled his career forward tenfold.
Having previously worked on cruise ships, as a family comedian, Dapper has recently discovered gap in the market for ‘geezer humour’ which he is currently exploiting.
“I would say my comedy is pretty flirtatious and I like to talk about all the women I have slept with,” he said jokingly.
“It’s just like Lad Banter really, something you would go down the pub and talk about with your mates.”
Dapper claims that his stage persona is just an extended version of himself, but using the character allows him to get away with things that he wouldn’t normally.
“Before Dapper, I ran a business so I needed to create a character that would allow me to get away with telling some of the jokes I was putting on social media,” he added.
“Dapper really is just an extended version of me. A bit of a lad and someone who loves to talk about pulling birds.”
Bright things are on the horizon for Dapper as he is already planning to launch his own Youtube channel and has high hopes of making is own television show in the near future.
He said: “We have had so much success on social media and we are just about to launch a massive Youtube which is exciting.
“In five years’ time, I hope to be doing a lot of stand up around the country and it would be great to have my own TV show.”
Having never performed in Manchester before the cheeky cockney has braced himself for some abuse from northern hecklers.
Dapper said: “I have never performed in Manchester, so I am really looking forward to it. I have quite a few fans up there so it should be an interesting gig.
“I am sure that I will get some stick from the audience being a southerner up north.”
