A ‘super sweet’ three-year-old dog was appallingly treated by her last owner and is in dire need of a loving home to help her recover before it’s too late.
Pumpkin, a cuddly tan and white cross breed, has managed to steadily put on weight since she was rescued and is described as friendly and loving.
Even so, she has only seven days to be rehomed before being put down.
Thanks to several kind and caring people the adorable Pumpkin has had her boarding fees covered and is currently being looked after by Rochdale Dogs Rescue, but this can only go on for so long.
She is currently being treated for skin and ear conditions but Coryn Shields, manager of the rescue centre, believes that all Pumpkin really needs is love.
“Despite all this she was full of love and affection and very trusting of people,” Miss Shields said.
“She had a wag for everyone who passed her in the vet’s waiting room and was good with any dogs she came into contact with.
“She kept jumping up on me for cuddles and then on the vet too, she just wants love and attention, bless her.”
Pumpkin, who is fully vaccinated, is due back at the vets to receive further treatment, but this does not seem to bother the loveable dog.
“I’m sure with a bit of TLC she will be feeling and looking better soon. Pumpkin has put lots of weight on and is looking a lot better,” Miss Shields said.
“We went on a walk today away from kennels and she was an absolute star! She walks nicely on the lead and just loves to sniff.
“She is very responsive to you and easy to walk; a delightful girl.”
