Iconic British football manager Harry Redknapp has heaped praise on Manchester United’s Adnan Januzaj by labelling the midfielder as ‘amazing’.
Januzaj celebrates his 19th birthday today and does so having been awarded United’s player of the month prize for January.
And Redknapp has backed the young star to make his mark on United’s history.
“The young kid Januzaj – what a player he is,” Redknapp told the club’s official website.
“He’s amazing and really could be anything.
“He could become another one of the truly great Manchester United players.”
January’s player of the month award is Januzaj’s third of his breakthrough season at Old Trafford as he beat Danny Welbeck and Chris Smalling into second and third respectively.
The Belgian-born player earned 75% of the vote and receives a £500 cheque for the charity of his choice – UNICEF.
Despite the impressive form of Januzaj, United endured a torrid January, crashing out of both cup competitions and struggling badly in the league.
The defending Premier League Champions currently sit seventh in the table – 15 points adrift of leaders Arsenal.
However, Redknapp has backed manager David Moyes to turn things around at United soon.
“The thing is now to go on a run,” Redknapp said.
“You can see United doing that with Juan Mata signing plus Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie coming back.
“United have a great tradition and I am sure they will come back as strong as ever.”
Januzaj will be hoping to feature alongside the attacking trio of Mata, Rooney and van Persie against Fulham on Sunday after being left out of last weekend’s defeat at Stoke.
