Bolton Wanderers may sit just four points above the relegation zone in the Championship but manager Dougie Freedman insists he is ‘unconcerned’ by the situation.
The Trotters haven’t won since Boxing Day and have lost four of their last seven league games.
Defeat at Ipswich on Saturday left them in 20th place in the table, but Freedman insists the next few games will turn things around.
“I am not concerned as the next four games out of five are at home,” Freedman told BBC Radio Manchester.
“We have to pick up points.
“If we don’t pick up points in them then I would be concerned.”
Bolton have struggled to put together any real consistency in the league all season and have had well documented struggles both on and off the field.
While acknowledging that it is a difficult time for the club, Freedman is confident that they will soon start moving forward.
“Sometimes you have to take one or two steps back to keep moving forward and that’s what we seem to be doing, on and off the field,” the Scot said.
“People on the outside will be looking at the big picture – the financial situation as well.
“Right now it’s a difficult position for the football club, but we have an opportunity to turn things around and win some games at home.”
Bolton face Bournemouth at The Reebok on Saturday before their re-arranged derby clash with Burnley next Tuesday.
An away trip to Millwall comes before home games against Watford and Blackburn, providing the opportunities in front of their fans Freedman believes can turn the fortunes around.
