Hyde lost the battle of the relegation strugglers as they went down 2-1 to Chester at Ewen Fields as they failed to build on last weekend’s performance.
The Tigers secured a 1-1 draw with Nuneaton Town in their previous fixture, which Scott McNiven hoped would be a ‘building block’ going forward but in their latest encounter they lost a game that was more than winnable.
“We had loads of chances and that’s our season, we’ve not been ruthless enough in front of goal and that’s the fine line in this division,” said McNiven.
“You don’t get any more chances, you don’t get other times to kill teams off and when they do come you’ve got to take them.”
In the Skrill North Stockport County’s revival was halted after losing 4-1 away at Oxford City.
After their impressive 4-2 win over Telford Alan Lord’s men looked to be back on track but they were comprehensibly beaten by the league’s bottom club and the manager said that he felt very sorry for the fans.
“The fans have got a long long journey home and they paid good money traveling and they’ve wasted a day and that for me is disgusting. I don’t want to be personal with people but that performance isn’t good enough and the players all know it.
It’s not good enough for me, it’s not good enough for them and it’s certainly not good enough for the fans,” said Lord.
Two of the local sides saw their Evo-Stik games in Manchester called off due to waterlogged pitches.
Droyslden against Kings Lynn Town in the Premier Division fell victim to the weather.
In the league’s other games, FC United took a point at Rushall Olympic whilst Trafford came from behind to thump local rival Ashton United 4-1.
Curzon’s First Division North match against Farsley was also called off.
However, Mossley’s game against visitors Cammell Laird went ahead as Peter Band saw his side win 2-0.
Salford City also claimed three points as two second-half goals saw them beat Ossett Albion on away territory.
