Manchester United can score more goals and turn their season around if they start focussing for the full 90 minutes, according to manager David Moyes.
Moyes has had a difficult start to his time at Old Trafford, recording a succession of poor results to leave the current champions eighth in the Premier League.
United take on Spaniards Real Sociedad at home on Wednesday and the Scot is demanding a complete performance out of his new players to secure three points.
“We’ve had periods of good play, but not continually in the game,” said Moyes.
“It’s something we’re working on in training. We’re trying to make it better and trying to improve all the time, that’s the way we work.
“There have been moments of play that have been excellent and a couple of inches one way or the other we might have scored more goals.”
Moyes won his first champions league tie against Bayer Leverkusen 4-2 and last time out his side claimed a well-earned 1-1 draw away against Shakhtar Donetsk.
United, however, have several injury doubts with first choice centre-back pairing Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand doubtful while forward Danny Welbeck needs to be monitored and midfielder Tom Cleverley, like Welbeck, could feature.
“We’ve got one or two knocks and niggles which most teams will have at this time of the year,” said Moyes.
“Vidic and Rio are making good progress, Danny Welbeck had a bit of an injury from the game so we’ll have to check on him. Tom Cleverley isn’t as bad as we thought. They both have a chance.”
