Young Barcelona star Thiago Alcantara is set to become David Moyes’ first major signing since becoming United boss.
The highly rated midfielder is due to have a medical with the club in the coming days ahead of a reported £17million pound switch from the Catalan giants.
The news has been broken by the popular MUFCLatest website – a site that was accurate in breaking Robin Van Persie and Guillermo Varela’s medicals with United as well as Manchester City’s recent medicals with Fernandinho and Jesus Navas.
The report claims that the site was passed information that the Old Trafford club have ‘booked in’ a player for a medical in the coming days.
If the report is accurate then Thiago would be welcomed by fans who have been craving an addition to United’s central midfield.
David Moyes has wasted no time in transforming the club to fit his style during his first week.
The introduction of a large number of backroom staff and now the medical of one of Spanish football’s brightest prospects are an indication that United are wasting no time moving on after Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure.
