Manchester City new boy Jesus Navas is relishing a Spanish connection as he looks forward to linking-up with David Silva at the Etihad Stadium.
The former Sevilla winger joined City this month in a deal worth up to £23million, following months of interest from the Premier League runners-up.
And the 27-year-old, who has always played his football at the Sanchez Pizjuan, is looking forward to his new challenge as part of an exciting City side.
“I’m going to play with David Silva and I’m excited about winning important trophies,” Navas said.
“I’m going to a great team full of world-class players that plays a style of football I love.
“I like the way football is played in England, the speed, the style of play, the high rhythm.”
City are expected to announce the appointment of Malaga manager Manuel Pellegrini this week, but they have already begun the summer spending.
Navas was followed to the North West by Brazilian international midfielder Fernandinho, taking City’s outlay beyond £50million.
He revealed his relief as finally sealing a long-awaited move to England and hopes to meet his old side on the European stage soon.
“I really wanted to complete the move,” he added.
“They showed a lot of interest in signing me and I’ve always wanted to play there. I was certain I wanted to move there and I’m very happy it’s done.
“I hope that one day I will be able to play with City at the Sanchez Pizjuan in a Champions League game, it would be an incredible experience.”
