MediaCityUK has added a new addition to their bustling restaurant family with the opening of the site’s very first pub The Dockyard.
The Dockyard, opened by the team behind the multi-award winning Damson Restaurant brand, will serve a mix of traditional food and locally brewed ales.
The pub is the brainchild of Steve Pilling and Simon Stanley who have cultivated a reputation for fine food and drink since 2009.
Their restaurant, Damson MediaCityUK, moved to the Salford site in February 2013 to rave reviews.
And the opening of their latest venture was celebrated in style with the first pint being pulled by writer and broadcaster Stuart Maconie.
The Dockyard offers an array of drinks, from keg and cask ales to beers and ciders, as well as a wine list curated by expert Pilling.
He said: “We’re delighted to be expanding here at MediaCityUK, it’s been a fantastic new home for us, and we look forward to bringing something completely different to the offer here.”
As a freehouse, the pub will also serve a constantly changing range of guest ales from local brewers and microbrewers.
The food, meanwhile, ranges from breakfast – where visitors can prepare for the day with a bacon butty, porridge or some good old fashioned beans on toast – to expertly sourced burgers, pies and soups.
The bar itself has a rustic feel, with exposed metal beams and panelled walls designed to reflect the industrial heritage of the site.
It promises to offer a lively atmosphere and a ‘home from home for the workers, residents and visitors.’
Stephen Wild, managing director at MediaCityUK, said: “MediaCityUK is a rapidly evolving destination and it is great to have Steve and his team involved in our growth.
“Damson has built an excellent reputation amongst our community and those visiting from further afield and we are certain that his latest venture will prove to be a hit with those frequenting it.”
The Dockyard is open 7.30am – 11pm Monday to Thursday and 7.30am – midnight Friday, as well as 9am – midnight Saturday and 9am – 10.30pm Sunday.
