Four men, who allegedly fixed a number of football matches in the UK including Manchester, are due in court today.
Former Whitehawk FC players Michael Boateng, of Davidson Road, and Hakeem Adelakun, of Mayfield Crescent, Thornton Heath, are due at Birmingham Crown Court accused of taking part in a conspiracy to defraud bookmakers.
The pair were arrested in a National Crime Agency investigation into an alleged international betting syndicate and were sacked from their Brighton-based football club in light of match fixing allegations.
Chann Sankaran, of Hougang Avenue, Singapore, and Krishna Sanjey Ganeshan, of Hawthorn Road, Hastings, East Sussex, will also appear charged with conspiracy to defraud bookmakers.
The British National Crime Agency have made numerous other arrests after claims of spot-fixing in matches were published in a national newspaper.
Blackburn striker DJ Campbell and Oldham midfielder Cristian Montano were among six people arrested following new spot fixing allegations.
The conspiracy is alleged to have taken place between November 1 and November 26.
