Two men accused of murdering Manchester-born Drummer Lee Rigby close to the Woolwich Barracks will appear in court on Friday.
Michael Adebolajo, 28, and Michael Adebowale, 22, will appear at the Old Bailey following the 25-year-old Fusilier’s death on May 22.
Both men accused are of British Nigerian descent and converted to Islam after being brought up in Christian households.
Father-of-one Rigby from Middleton had been walking back to his Barracks after visiting The Tower of London at around 2.20pm when he was run over by a car before two men armed with a knife and cleaver attempted to behead him.
Rigby died of multiple cut and stab wounds.
Adebolajo from Romford, Essex, has asked to be called Mujaahid Abu Hamza and Adebowale, from Greenwich, south-east London has also asked to be called Ismail Ibn Abdullah in court.
They both deny his murder.
They are also accused of the attempted murder of a police officer and conspiracy to murder another officer around the same day Rigby was killed.
