Bondage, handcuffs and naked men… only at XXXmas! Saucy event raises money for Manchester’s Christie

By Tim Hyde

Bondage kits, naked men and lace-top stockings were just some of the goods on offer at a Manchester women’s business event last week.

Manchester PA Network hosted the final event of the year with a decidedly risqué twist as Restaurant Bar & Grill, John Dalton St, was decorated with lace top stockings, blindfolds and handcuff garlands.

With help from Ann Summers the event raised more than £15,000 for The Christies Hospital as women were treated to a 50 shades of XXXmas themed night.

Katie McEwan, executive assistant at Ann Summer, said: “Congratulations for raising such a phenomenal amount of money for The Christie and here’s to the next £15,000.”

On arrival the 50 women were greeted by a champagne reception served by The Naked Chocolatiers who also provided themed cocktails and chocolate lollipops.

The PA network ladies were also joined by Justin Orange, brother of Take That’s Jason, who was the event’s DJ.

The evening was rounded off by a huge raffle in aid of The Charity, with prizes donated from companies across the city, it helped raise thousands of much needed funds.

Ann Summers CEO Jacqueline Gold showed her support for the event by live tweeting her support for the Network.

In aid of the cancer charity all those involved provided their services free of charge and were rewarded at the end of the night with an exclusive Ann Summers Goodie Bag.

Co-founder of the network Amanda Barlow was rewarded for her fundraising efforts with a Leaf of Hope placed at the Christie’s Hospital in memory of her mother who passed away from cancer.

Manchester PA Network has been running for three years and continues grow in size due to the generosity of volunteers Hayley Harthern, Amanda Barlow, Melanie Sheehy and Holly Moore.
