The devastated family of a Rochdale teenager who was killed after he fell from a ladder on an industrial site and suffered a heart attack on Wednesday have paid tribute to their ‘cheeky and happy boy’.

Electrician Nathan Brown, 19, died after he fell 12ft from a ladder and went into cardiac arrest while working on Shawclough trading estate.

After Nathan’s accident he was air lifted to hospital but he died a short time later.

His family said: “Nathan was a loved son, brother, uncle, grandson and a close friend to many who are all distraught at the news of his death. At only 19 years old our cheeky, happy boy has left a big void which can never be filled.

“A devout Liverpool fan, Nathan loved football and played both 5 a-side and 11 a-side football with friends whom he also loved to socialise.

“He was a bright, happy go lucky young man who loved life and lived it to the fullest. He brought joy and laughter to everyone he met and left a lasting impression.”

The Health and Safety Executive were contacted and are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
