Burglars stole almost £50,000 worth of bicycles and accessories from a Bury leisure store on Saturday after spending more than 15 hours cutting a hole through the roof.
The theft happened between 5.50pm on August 3 and 9am the next morning when the thieves cut through the roof of Leisure Lakes on Rochdale Road, Bury.
They stole five Santacruz and two Yeti mountain bikes as well as eight sets of expensive forks, totalling more than £47,000.
Detective Inspector John Mazzolai, said: “This was clearly a well-planned and well executed burglary.
“The offenders have cut a hole in the roof and stolen the most expensive products in store. One bike alone is worth almost £10,000.
“I would expect whoever is responsible to try and sell the bikes and parts at some point and I would urge anyone who is offered these products or hears or knows someone trying to offload them to call the police.
“I would also like to hear from anyone in the area who heard or saw someone in or near to the shop as it would have taken some effort to get away with so many bikes and accessories.”
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 8181, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
