The devastated family of murdered Salford mum Linzi Ashton, 25, have described her as the most beautiful, generous, and caring person in a heartfelt tribute.
Linzi’s life was tragically cut short on Tuesday when she was found battered to death in her home on Westbourne Road, Winton on June 29.
Soon after the discovery, her ex-partner Michael Cope, 28, disappeared and is now sought in connection with her murder.
In a heartfelt statement, Linzi’s family said: “Linzi was a much-loved daughter, sister, aunt and mum to two beautiful children, Destiny and Daisy.
“She was the most beautiful, generous, caring person anyone could ever wish to meet. She would never harm anyone and was always there for her children and family.
“She loved treating her girls to princess sleepovers, dressing up and baking for them. When she walked into a room it would light up with her energy and love.
“Life will never be the same again without her. Our all family and friends have been devastated by her death. The whole community is in shock.”
Greater Manchester Police and Crimestoppers, the independent charity, have also announced a £5,000 reward for anyone who has information leading to his arrest.
A Home Office post mortem concluded Linzi died as a result of pressure to the neck and multiple injuries.
Chief Superintendent Kevin Mulligan said: “Linzi’s two daughters have been robbed of their mum in the most brutal and cruel way and her entire family are still in a state of shock following her murder.
“It has now been two days since Linzi was killed and our officers are working round the clock to find Michael Cope, who is wanted in connection with her murder.
“Rest assured we will pursue every lead to ensure we find this man.
“I would also like to send a warning to anyone who is harbouring Cope that we will take action against you.
“You might think you a doing a mate a favour, but do you really want to spend time behind bars for this man?
“We will also be working with our partner agencies to look at evicting anyone who is using their property to offer this man safety.
Anyone with information should call police on 0161 856 5092 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
