A cheeky robber is still being hunted by police after he scribbled a threatening message to Salford bank staff demanding £5,000 in cash and made off with the money last December.
The offender strolled into NatWest bank on Bolton Road, Irlams O’ Th’ Height, at around 3.15pm on December 11 and passed a note to the cashier reading ‘£5,000 NOW, SHHH OR I’LL SHOOT’.
The terrified cashier handed over an amount of cash and the man fled the bank, without exposing a weapon.
Detective Chief Inspector Ben Ewart, of Swinton CID said: “Since this brazen robbery we have conducted numerous enquiries to try and identify the suspect.
“Early into the investigation we identified a potential offender, carrying out numerous enquiries to trace and locate the individual.
Extensive enquiries have been conducted, including the use of facial mapping, ultimately eliminating him from the investigation. “
Some of the money was recovered at the junction of Irlam Square and Ellery Road after he triggered a security dye pack.
The offender is a white man, between 5ft 10in and 6ft tall, of slim/athletic build, in his late 20s or early 30s, with a sallow complexion, pock marks on his cheeks and slight stubble.
He was wearing a thick black woollen hat, black snood, waist length jacket, light coloured jogging bottoms and had a blue stud earring.
Detective Chief Inspector Ewart added: “We are determined that the person responsible for this crime is brought to justice and I am now appealing to the public for help.
“While no weapons were seen, the offender has robbed a bank and in the process – through the medium of the written word –threatened to shoot staff if they did not comply.
“Please look at the CCTV footage and images and if you think you know who this person might be, please get in touch.”
