Four people are now under arrest in connection with the disappearance of a Cheetham Hill mother-of-three who police believe may have been murdered.
Rania Alayed, 25, was reported missing from home on Tuesday July 2, however it is believed she has not actually been seen alive since the start of June.
Officers have now been given more time to continue questioning those arrested, including a 33-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder.
At the time of her disappearance, Superintendant Vanessa Jardine, of North Manchester Division, said: “Ranya is a mother to three young children so you can imagine that her family are frantic with worry.
“That is why we are asking people to help us with this inquiry. A young mother has gone missing in sudden circumstances and our over-riding concern is that she is reunited with her children.”
The police have a further 36 hours to continue interviewing a 38-year-old man from Salford arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
They also have an additional 24 hour warrant of further detention relating to the 33-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder, and a 55-year-old woman and 64-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Rania previously lived in the North East of England, only moving to Manchester in January 2013.
