‘He’ll never be forgotten’: Murder charge after man dies from ‘severe facial injuries’ in Levenshulme

A man has been charged with murder following the death of a man in Levenshulme who was found with severe facial injuries – while another five people have been bailed.

The victim was 40-year-old Glen Delaney, who was found on Barlow Road following reports of an ‘altercation’ outside a house.

Officers attended the incident at about 6.45pm on Thursday and took the injured man to hospital, however he later died at Manchester Royal Infirmary.

In a statement, Glen’s family said: “Dad’s number one son will never be forgotten.

“In loving memory of Glen from mum, dad, sisters, nephews, nieces and all family.”

A Home Office post-mortem examination confirmed Glen died as a result of severe facial injuries.

David Gray, 29, of Barlow Road, Levenshulme, is charged with murder.

He is due to appear before Manchester City Magistrates’ Court today.

A further five people – two men aged 42 and 34, and three women aged 23, 23 and 65 – have all been bailed pending further inquiries.
