Veteran BBC Manchester broadcaster Stuart Hall, 83, appeared at a pre-trial hearing at Preston Crown Court this morning in relation to allegations of historic sex offences.
He was bailed until his next court date on May 2.
The Ashton-under-Lyne born presenter was initially charged with three separate indecent assaults of young girls dating between 1974 and 1984.
He then faced additional charges that he raped a woman in 1976 and committed 14 sexual assaults against 10 girls between 1967 and 1986.
Hall, who lives in Wilmslow, Cheshire, has since described his life since the allegations were put to him as a ‘living nightmare’.
The former It’s A Knockout presenter is also well known for his football match commentaries on BBC Radio 5 Live.
He was awarded an OBE for services to broadcasting and charity in the 2012 New Year’s honours list.
