Legendary Spanish director Pedro Almodovar has sent his UK fans into a frenzy as he hosts a Q&A to talk about new flick I’m So Excited.
The interview will be broadcast live at Manchester’s Cornerhouse on April 24, via videolink from the Hackney Picturehouse, as the director will discuss his new film and the inspiration behind it.
Almodovar has been described by many as the most creative and influential Spanish director of his generation and has created such classics as Live Flesh (1997), All About My Mother (1999) and more recently, The Skin I Live In (2011).
I’m So Excited is homage of his earlier comedic work and follows a group of travellers who are forced to deal with their emotions when they are faced with a life threatening situation, on a plane to Mexico City.
The story combines fear and loneliness, while seduction and lies are brought in to deal with the impending death that many characters may face.
With camp cabin crew members, a string of famous Spanish faces, and the artistic talent of Penelope Cruz and Antonio Banderas, I’m so excited promises to be classic Almodovar.
