English Defence League demonstrations in Manchester on Saturday have resulted in five men being charged.
The protest, attended by 700 EDL supporters and 350 counter-demonstrators from Unite Against Fascism saw seven others arrested for breach of the peace.
They were later released and face no further action.
Daniel Shaw, 26, of Keeley Close, Manchester was charged with possessing a class B drug.
Daniel Hare, 25, of Studmoor Road, Rotherham was charged with a public order offence and Christopher Lambert, 20 of Frederick Road, Salford, was charged with being drunk and disorderly.
Susana Mangesha, 31, of Lascotts Road, London, was also charged with a public order offence and Sam Fielding, 23, of Minto Street, Ashton-under-Lyne was charged with a public order offence and possession of a class B drug.
There was also a fixed-penalty notice for a 22-year-old man for breaching the peace, a 46-year-old man was cautioned for possessing class A drugs and a 21-year-old man arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence was released on police bail.
Greater Manchester Police and Manchester City Council prepared for Saturday’s demonstration to ensure there was minimal disruption to the local community.
Local businesses stayed open as planned and the demonstrations were largely kept to the pre-arranged area of Albert Square.
